Skills Transfer and Mentoring
We can mentor your staff and transfer the necessary skills to help you become more self sufficient after project completion.  We have also helped our customers transition their application developers to new programming languages, including Java, AJAX, DotNetNuke, etc.  We accomplish this by working together to develop an application to solve a business need.  Our ‘just-in-time’ training ensures skills retention by using short, timely sessions that are relevant to the project.

‘Just-In-Time’ Training
Our unique approach, called Just-In-Time Training, involves short training sessions focused on topics of immediate relevance.  The team spends a few hours as a group reviewing the material, then proceeds to use the information in the project they are working on.  It is the immediate use that reinforces the learning, translating it into something meaningful and useful that is not easily forgotten.

When Just-In-Time training is used on a mentored project, you achieve a three-fold benefit of

  1. a successful business application that
  2. your own staff knows and can support while
  3. increasing their technical skills.
It doesn’t get any better than that.

Proven Success
While developing an improved customer service website for a major metals processing company, Alliance mentored a key developer from that company’s IT staff.  Their developer worked alongside Alliance providing valuable company knowledge and producing components for the application as he learned web technologies such as java, AJAX and XML.  The application was implemented on time and within budget with an enthusiastic customer response.  With the skills he learned on the project, their in-house developer went on to create two additional applications within 3 months of the rollout of the customer website, as well as to maintain the new website.  "Just so you know, I don’t suffer fools gladly.  You were one of a select few that I trusted to come in and teach my folks, and I understood you to be a man of character.  You genuinely enriched my life and the lives of my programmers."   quote from a client to our lead mentor and architect, Jeff Roberts.
